Bokashi Bins

Bokashi  is a method of intensive composting.  Bokashi Bins use a mixture of bacteria, fungi and yeasts to safely compost your garden waste.  Increasingly popular because they are compact enough for even the smallest  flat or garden, and because they compost even cooked meat

You can compost all your garden waste using the bokashi bin system.  Cooked or raw kitchen scraps – even meat and dairy.  Each time you add your scraps to the compost, simply sprinkle in a handful of Bokashi bran and let the micro-organisms pickle the waste.

After only a couple of weeks your compost will be ready. Dilute and add to your compost heap or use as a foliar or soil drench - you will soon swear by the stuff

Bokashi Bran can be used in any suitable container - it can even be added to your usual garden compost bin as a compost accelerator (as recommended by Chris Beardshaw in his Daily Mail Column)  For ease of composting, most gardeners choose to use a Bokashi composting kits.  These are comprised of 2 x airtight containers so that you can fill one bin whilst the second is fermenting.
