Hedgehog Shelter

It is easy to create a hedgehog shelter in your garden - and even if hedgehogs don't use your shelter at all, what is certain is that some garden animal or another will.

Loss of natural habitat is one of the biggest threats to hedgehogs in the UK and hedgehog homes will proved the perfect place to hibernate over winter.

Once your hedgehog house is in place, it is best to cover the floor of the hedgehog house with a mix of soil, leaves and straw - this will make a snug home for any homeless hedgehog.

Try covering the house with a dome of leaves, dried grass and twigs to provide the hedgehog with additional protection from the harsh winter weather.
